CO cold box - Partial condensation

Optimized cryogenic separation technology for production up to  85,000 Nm³/h of high-purity carbon monoxide for the chemical industry.

Our CO Cold Box – Partial Condensation technology provides high-purity CO (up to 99.99%). This robust solution is optimized for low energy consumption across various feedstocks.

Energy-efficient cryogenic separation

The Partial Condensation process is a highly efficient cryogenic separation method based on the boiling point differences of syngas components. Following initial pretreatment to remove impurities, the feed gas is partly condensed in heat exchangers.

The condensed mixture is then flashed in a syngas drum before undergoing final purification through a series of distillation columns. This process is specifically engineered to maintain low specific energy consumption (ranging from 18 to 100 kWh/tonne) across a wide range of feedstocks, ensuring cost-effective operations without compromising on purity.

Maximum capacity and efficiency

Our Partial Condensation technology is designed for massive industrial applications, reaching a production capacity of up to  85,000 Nm³/h ( 2,500 tonnes per day) of pure CO.

The system seamlessly processes synthesis gas from natural gas, naphtha, or coal and residue gasification. It supports the simultaneous production of hydrogen, oxogas, methane, and LNG to maximize plant utility. Every Cold Box is engineered to the highest safety standards, providing reliable on-demand gas production tailored to the required CO purity and pressure.
